The last few months have been difficult for all of us, but for those front-line carers and staff working to help maintain health services have experienced something that might not occur again in this century.
The NHS has been a loyal partner of ours for a while now, and as lockdown measures begin to ease, we'd like to highlight what the Health & Care Foundation Trust provides and ways that you're able to provide feedback about your COVID-19 experience within Gloucestershire.
You may familiar with the former 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust (GHC) - this is a merger of these two as of October 2019 to enable services to be more streamlined and easily accessed. The services they're now offering surround physical health, mental health and learning disability support.
The fact that this operates as an NHS Foundation Trust (FT) means its regionally-focused, rather than linked to Central Government. This allows the Health & Care FT to adapt its services in response to local needs.
They are based in multiple Inpatient Units across Gloucestershire, as well as many other locations. With this they can provide support for those experiencing anxiety or depression, help for children and young people, or to support speech therapy, among many other services.
Due to COVID-19, many services have been reduced or changed, something that staff and patients the Health & Care FT has had to adapt to rapidly. To gain an understanding of how people have found this transition, GHC will be running a series of workshops in the coming couple of weeks:
Thursday 18th June, 3pm
Monday 22nd June, 11am
Tuesday 23rd June, 11am
Thursday 25th June, 3pm
This gives you the opportunity to provide feedback on your experience and views of using the service over the past few months and all workshops will be held remotely via. Microsoft Teams.
To join one of these, please email socialinclusion@ghc.nhs.uk or phone 01452 894200.
Alternatively, you can share your views through their Smart Survey up until Friday 26th June.
We would like to thank the fantastic hard work and dedication of all those both in Gloucestershire's Hospitals and those continuing to provide regular patients with the care services they need during COVID-19.
